Track Name: Wait Wait Don't Tell Me
Finally the beast in me has assumed a new identity,
Growing apart of all I see and engulfing it entirely.
I’m not surprised to see the demise of my serenity,
Or perhaps the air I breathe is what is bringing me to my knees.
Never setteling for complacency,
I see the same face I’ve always seen.
A boy that never took the time,
To realize all his selfish dreams.
Were just mirages simply put on pause by disillusioned fantasies.
Realizing that the start and end to every day,
Will never bring me clarity.
I scratch the itch to numb the pain,
because relief is only temporary.
Track Name: Tree Forts
A novel could be written of all the times,
I’ve cut the ties with the liars in my life.
Taking off disguises in the night,
And being disgusted with what truley lies inside.
I’ll look through the mirror every time,
Throw out my doubt
Take pride in my crime.
I reach for your hand, and find it cold to the touch.
Drained from your vibrance, unfamiliar and crushed
By the weight on your shoulders.
The burden of life,
Exactly what I see when I look inside.
I hate my shallow keepsakes,
They make it hard to concentrate.
Add them to my mistakes and dead weight,
And help me forget I’m awake.
Track Name: Crows Letdown
Lately I haven’t found the time to think or even breathe,
Rather spend my life in cement shoes under the sea.
Location of my motivation is buried under leaves,
Locked in a chest and I lost the key.
I lost the key.
I lost the key that would once reveal a peaceful me.
The human race is not my saving grace.
My restless heartbeat simply can’t compete,
With my minds wandering boundaries
And my need for sleep.
And the grid I dream of falling through,
Exists to limit me and you.
So if your point of view is often skued,
You’re not alone in feeling subdued.
Track Name: West MacArthur
Yeah I’ve got some wreckage at the bottom of my soul,
But it’s nothing a few words cant fix
on any given night spent alone.
No different than the genuine heartache growing everyday,
Inside any mixed-up kid crawling through the mud
screaming to get away.
I’ll spin my salvation as if I’m talking to god,
One on one through the stereo every day after dawn.
When will be the day when I surrender and run away?
Confront my past and go face to face with change.
I’ll be just fine,
Grit my teeth and carry on.
Track Name: Mad Cowboy Disease
Ashamed of myself because of you,
The only thing I can be honest with myself about.
You twist and ostracize,
So I keep my lifestyle inside.
Where it fucking should be,
Instead of down some impressionable throat.
You take yourself too seriously,
Go ahead and punch me.
Lie to us and scare others away,
Didn’t get in the military,
Doesn’t mean you should ruin my day.
Take a step back and fucking think.
Track Name: Mirror Mirror
Can’t I just pretend I wont break before I bend?
At least stop dragging my feet,
So I won’t appear so weak.
What a decieving song I’ve come to sing?
What a deceptive story I’ve had to tell?
What a deceitful picture I’ve come to paint
What a decieving tune I’ve come to sing?
Lost the purpose in life,
But found a new one in disguise.
I wont believe it for a second of time, but it’s all I’ve got.
I’ll live the lie.
As sweat goes through my skin,
And I lose my grip.
My grip on motivation.
In your perfect world, I can’t help but quit
I’m simply not part of the equation.
